I knew the story about the mother elephant and George Floyd, as it was making the news quite a lot. I didn't know about the girl who released the parrots, though. This kind of cruelty breaks my heart. I can't imagine I belong to a species who can be so hurtful! Hurtful to themselves, hurtful to animals and hurtful to other people who care about animals. I'm left asking the same question as the author's daughter: Why?
