Although it isn't wrong, totally. Because India is a vast country and with that comes differences in population of farmers.
But, this portrayal leads to misconceptions among some “stupid” People.
Someone, after seeing my Quora profile picture, said that I can't be a farmer and I'm lying.
Contrary to stereotypical image of us, we dress as per ocassion.

This is a common misconception that has been propagated by Bollywood. Farmers are highly misrepresented as "poor, under-developed, backward, always sad and miserable". What many of us don't realize is that farmers are some of the most respected members in their communities. Its not uncommon to see highly renowned people like Mr. Vijay here, who are changing the landscape of farming and agriculture with the positive benefits of modernization. We salute you!
